Sometimes we pray asking God to handle a problem for us, or to fulfill a dream we have, but instead of letting it go for Him to handle, we continue to hold on to it trying to handle it on our own and it ought not to be so. Today, the word of the Lord for us is:
(Isaiah 58:11) “The LORD will guide you continually; and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.”
(Luke 18:27) “The things which are impossible with men are possible with GOD.”
(Hebrew 10:35-38) “Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of GOD, you may receive the promise: “For yet a little while, And He who is coming will come and will not tarry. Now the just shall live by faith.”
So, the next time you ask GOD to handle something for you, just leave it in His capable hands, and do as David encourages us to do in Psalm 37:5 - “Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.”
I once read that there were two kinds of people living in the world today – the Thermometers and the Thermostats. The Thermometers are simply those who reflect the culture they live in by going about doing and saying the things everyone else around them does; and they even react to situations in the same way. The Thermostats on the other hand are those who are not programmed by the social climate in which they are placed but rather change the climates they are placed in.
It is God’s intention for us to be like the Thermostats and not as the Thermometers. He wants us to live in such a way that our lives would set the tone in our environments daily. The choice is really up to us. We can either complain about our situation, or we can set the tone using our situations as stepping stones to a victorious life in Christ. It is my belief that even if I have to do it alone, that God will help me to live a life as that of the Thermostats; A life that will reflect Christ at all times, demonstrating faith, humility, gentleness, patience, and love to everyone I come in contact with daily.
I also believe that If God doesn't change the condition I am in; He'll condition me for the change until the change comes, but He will never allow me to succumb to it and neither will you!
